Open letter to potential PHP Corporate Sponsors:

Dear Potential Sponsor,

We are Operation Ensuring Christmas…for Children of Fallen Troops. We send the children of fallen US Troops Christmas Gift Cards during the Holidays and send them on an all expense paid ‘Christmas in July’ VIP Theme Park vacation in Orlando Florida. Our programs are to help these children ‘be kids again’.

There are over 2000 children who have lost a parent in service to our country since 9/11. Many of these children did not receive most of the benefits for families of fallen troops due to a variety of legislative and personal family situations. These families are struggling to keep their heads above water, especially in these tough economic times. With the loss of their Hero parent’s income and minimal survivor benefits there is virtually no way to save for their children’s future. With this in mind we are also developing a ‘Christmas Bonus Bonds’ program which would purchase US Savings ‘Patriot Bonds’ in the name of the children to use for future educational or other expenses. These Patriot Bonds would be an investment in the country that their Hero parents gave their lives for.

In 2006, Operation Ensuring Christmas produced ‘A lil Heroes Christmas’ CD. Thirteen children of troops killed in action since 9/11 were in Recording Studios across the country adding their voices to the CD on the same day at the same time, the afternoon of Saturday, October 7th, the anniversary of the start of Operation Enduring Freedom. The CD features the children singing all or part of 7 of the 9 songs which are traditional Christmas songs and parts of an original Christmas song and a 'Patriotic Americana' song written especially for them. The CD was released on November 11, 2006, Veteran’s Day. The CD made #8 on Billboards Heat Seekers (new artist) charts. Operation Ensuring Christmas and the CD story were featured on NBC’s ‘The Today Show’ and in other national media outlets.

To help continue raising the funds needed to support these children we are producing the Precious Heroes Project CD/DVD as a follow up to ‘A lil Heroes Christmas’ which will include our OEC kids and stars from Music, Film, Sports and many other facets of entertainment. We will be bringing the children and celebrities together in studios across the country to interact and add their voices to the CD, but more importantly to the cause. The thrill that the children would get from meeting some of their favorite stars alone is worth the effort and the dollars raised from the project to support these children could of course be significant. A ‘making of’ DVD will be produced as part of the project which will also include clips of various celebrities giving short inspirational words of encouragement and support to the children. The Precious Heroes Project should generate considerable visibility comparable to or possibly even exceeding the great press generated by our first CD.

We have retained the entertainment law firm of Dicks & Nanton P.A., Orlando Florida, to assist with the legal issues involved and the development of the project. A letter from D&N is enclosed. We want our sponsors, celebrities and other participants in the project to be comfortable knowing that 100% of the proceeds from the project will be going to Operation Ensuring Christmas, a 501-C3 nonprofit corporation and our programs benefiting the children. We also want all involved assured that this project and the funds raised will be handled with the utmost care… and most of all with the best interests of the children in mind.

These children have made the Ultimate Sacrifice that a child can make for their country, the loss of a parent in service to our nation and they deserve to live out the American dream for which their Hero parents fought and died to keep alive. We are hoping to make this one of the biggest fundraising projects attempted for these children.

We are writing to you requesting your support in the production of the project. There will be significant up front expenses including studio time, travel and lodging expenses for the children and some celebrities, CD/DVD manufacturing, etc. Your support is vital in helping us turn this dream of both OEC and the children into a reality. Please find a sponsorship opportunities and commitment form enclosed. You will see that your sponsorship would include other visibility opportunities as a partner with Operation Ensuring Christmas. We would be happy to discuss the details with you at any time.

For further information and to discuss your commitment, please contact Operation Ensuring Christmas President, Robert McDowell at 321-251-7850 or e-mail oechristmas@opchristmas.org.
