"His dad promised that he would take him to[ an Orlando Theme Park]
... well, as we know he did not make it home."
Suzette K., Jon's mom, who's father Sgt. Elmer K. was killed in Iraq April 9, 2004.

Jon & Dad
Jonathan's dad promised him a trip to a theme park in Orlando, Florida
when he returned from Iraq. Because he was killed fighting for his country he
couldn't keep that promise. Thanks to generous donors and a generous one
time gift from NBC/Universal Studios, Operation Ensuring Christmas made
Jonathan's dream of an Orlando theme park vacation come true. We saw the
tremendous grief suffered by Jonathan fade away for awhile as he rode, spun
and splashed his way around the Theme Park.

"Children of fallen soldiers suffer in ways that
can't possibly be measured or understood"

Deanna, wife of SFC. David S., KIA 2/14/05
(Valentines Day) - Baquba, Iraq

Please read Deanna's very touching e-mail here.

While we never would expect or want them to forget their Soldier parent, we know that those parents would want them to recover from the grief and trauma they have suffered. They would want their children to “be Kid’s again”. They made the Ultimate Sacrifice so their children and ours could enjoy Freedom and all of the joys and opportunities this country has to offer. You can help make a dream come true for the many other children who have sacrificed a parent in service to our country.

"It's great what you {OEC} are doing for these children."
Gary Sinise
(CSI NY, Forrest Gump)

The help from Universal Studios was a one time gift. It is now up to the
generousty of people like you to help over 1300 more of these children
who deserve this special VIP vacation. The trip is for the purpose of
helping these children recover from what is the most tragic event they
could ever experience in their still young lives, the loss of a parent in war.
This loss is often compounded by the fact that most of these parents are
lost in combat adding to the trauma that these children must endure. We
help them to be Kid's again with a respectful appreciation for their sacrifice.

As you can see from the photos we have begun sending more of these special kids to Disney World and Universal Studios. There are hundreds more children who deserve their VIP Vacations. Wouldn't it be great to send more of the Children of Fallen US Troops to Orlando for a wonderful 'Christmas in July' VIP Vacation, Universal?, Disney?, Sea world? We need your support now to continue making vacation plans for the kids.

Travel arrangements for OECs’ 'Christmas in July' program are made through
*AAA Travel, a well respected national travel agency. If you would like to help
make this dream come true for these special kid's please support OEC.  While
we call this program 'Christmas in July', this is a year round program. Your
donations are never too late...or too early. Please help these special kids today.

"...just want children [of fallen soldiers] to be happy [to be Kid's again]
and not look or feel as if the weight of the world is on their shoulders."

        Samantha C., wife of Capt. Christopher C., KIA June 4, 2004 - 2 children.

“Hunter [4] has for the most part shut people out, been very quiet and
introverted since losing his father. Since being at Disney he has opened up
... talking to people, laughing, very outgoing.
"Maybe this really is a Magical place."
